Answers:
Do you have a way to create large print instructions for the vision impaired?
Yes. Any number of fonts and sizes can be used and large print or other sizes can be set as default or selected on the fly.
Can you customize the instructions layout?
The layout of the instructions can be customized to include patient and facility information at the top, at the bottom, with logos, or in a number of ways to meet the preferences of the facility.
Can you include barcodes on discharge instructions?
Yes! Barcodes can be a useful addition to discharge instructions allowing scanning and document archiving of instructions. DC123 can include a barcode anywhere on the instructions.
How do you address prescription security with the system?
Prescriptions are created with watermark seals and optional security paper can be used as well. Discharge 1-2-3 has state approved formats for secure prescriptions for all 50 states.
How long will it take from the time we purchase the system until it can be up and running at our site?
Discharge 1-2-3 can be set up very fast. The desktop system can be installed in minutes. The server and even the interface can be set up very quickly. In general, it will require more time to decide where you will get your list of users and any customizations such as logo than the technical time to put the system in place.
Do I need any special hardware?
None. Discharge 1-2-3 will run on your existing Windows-based computer systems and network or server where applicable to your version. The application can run at the same time as other systems allowing you to toggle back and forth and avoid requirements for dedicated hardware that covers valuable counter top space.
What if we are planning to put a comprehensive system in our Emergency Department (EDIS) system but it is many months until it will be available?
If you are planning a comprehensive discharge instruction system, Discharge 1-2-3 can function as an excellent bridge solution that can give you immediate savings NOW and until the new system is in place. There will only be gains in having something sooner and we can also make the Discharge 1-2-3 solution available as an integral part of your comprehensive solution.
What if we already have a comprehensive system such as an EDIS system in our Emergency Department and we are not happy with the discharge component?
We can address your needs in one of a couple ways. Discharge 1-2-3's textual content can be integrated into your existing EDIS system to give you the same high quality instructions used in the DC123 software product. Alternatively, you can license the DC123 software product itself for integration into your existing systems. Contact us directly for more information and a list of vendor partners or to discuss the possibilities.
