Managment and Key Personnel

Christopher Galassi, MD, MS, CEO and Technical Director
Christopher (Chris) Galassi has a blended combination of experience in business, technology, advanced information systems, and medicine. He completed a Masters in Computer Science (Artificial Intelligence) from the University of Illinois and worked previous to his medical experience as a software engineer for the Department of Defense. Subsequently, he completed a Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Illinois and training in Computation applied to Medicine at the University of Illinois and the National Institutes of Health (NLM) as well as clinical training. In business, prior to his involvement with Callibra, Christopher formed Innovative Projects Lab, Inc. where he carried out and led technology consulting efforts for large corporate clients such as the American Hospital Association, Abbot Labs, and Arthur Andersen. He was a founding member of Chicago Biotech Network (now iBio), Chicago's Biotechnology Association and served on the Board of Directors of that organization for three years. His interests include business and strategic partnering, intelligent software, knowledge-based systems, and clinical medicine.

Richard Brantner, MD, FACEP, FAAEM, Chief Medical Officer
Richard (Rick) Brantner began his medical career with a Bachelor of Science and Certificate as a Physician Assistant from George Washington University and MD from the University of Colorado. He completed his internship at Tripler Army Medical Center, Honolulu, HI and residency in emergency medicine at Madigan Army Medical Center, Ft. Lewis, WA. He is a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Medicine and of the American Academy of Emergency Medicine and Board Certified by ABEM. His interests include areas of total quality improvement, EMS, and pulmonary medicine. He has been a practicing emergency medicine physician for over 10 years, practicing in Olympia, Washington. Dr. Brantner continues to be actively involved in resident training and is an active attending at Madigan Army Medical Center/University of Washington affiliated residency in emergency medicine. He has lectured and coordinated skill labs for ACEP on the national level and is on the faculty for several annual oral board review courses . Most recently, Dr. Brantner served in Operation Enduring Freedom/ Iraqi Freedom as an emergency physician and senior medical officer in Ramadi, Iraq.

Colin Kaide, MD, FACEP, FAAEM, Chief Clinical Advisor
Colin Kaide is a board-certified, residency-trained emergency physician currently on faculty at the Ohio State University College of Medicine as an assistant professor of clinical emergency medicine. He also practices in the OSU Comprehensive Wound Care Center as a specialist in wound care and hyperbaric medicine.  Outside of Callibra, Dr. Kaide's responsibilities include both the clinical practice of emergency medicine and the education of both emergency medicine residents, pediatric emergency medicine fellows and medical students. He is heavily involved in other clinical education activities for the OSU Medical Center, providing lectures to medical students and grand rounds seminars to the other specialty departments on various topics in emergency medicine, hyperbaric medicine and wound care. He has lectured for ACEP on the national level and is on faculty for the Ohio Chapter of ACEP for their annual Board Review Course. Prior to his full-time commitment to academic emergency medicine, he served for over two years as the assistant director of emergency services at Lima Memorial Hospital in Lima, OH.


Additional Key Personnel and Teams

Edward Mundy, Clinical Product Expert - Edward (Ed) provides leadership for representation of the product and new business development to clients nationwide.  He supports customers through all phases of the evaluation process providing information as needed.

Technical Development, Implementation, and Support Team
- This team meets development and implementation support directives providing the technical vehicle for product vision as well as customer support to put solutions in place.

Languages and Content Support Team - Composed of specialists such as native speakers in foreign language and medical legal consultants, this team provides rigor and process needed to assure the clinical content of the CAB meets and exceeds linguistic and non-clinical aspects of content.

Business Operations Team - Supports general business marketing and operations functions within Calibra.


Clinical Advisory Board (CAB)

The Clinical Advisory Board (CAB) consists of of a commitee of eight board certified physicians as well as nurse practitioners, and additional personnel from hospitals across the country. Under direction of the CAB co-chairs, they are the authors of content and provide continual clinical feedback on new product and content development. The CAB members provide a solid representation of practice perspectives across a spectrum including small rural and urban facilities, private hospitals, and academic centers. This mix along with geographic distribution helps assure relevant design and content is considered for every practice venue.
